Assignment 3

1.   Prior to this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic. I would say that I had some knowledge of these subjects.

2.       Following this activity, how would you rate the amount of knowledge you have on the topic? I enjoyed this activity so I really got to know the subject matter. I would be able to repeat and possibly teach the subject

3.       Did the hands-on approach to this activity add to how much you were able to learn? I have no opinion on this matter.

4.       What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better? I would recommend that there be some more information given for this.

Assignment 4 

1.       Prior to this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic. (1-No Knowledge at atll, 2-Very Little Knowledge, 3-Some knowledge, 4-A good amount of knowledge, 5-I knew all about this)

I had very little knowledge of this before the exercise.

2.       Following this activity, how would you rate the amount of knowledge you have on the topic (1- I don’t really know enough to talk about the topic, 2- I know enough to explain what I did, 3-I know enough to repeat what I did, 4-I know enough to teach someone else, 5- I am an expert)

I would rate myself a 3 on this now. There is still much to learn and comprehend. 

3.       Did the hands-on approach to this activity add to how much you were able to learn (1-Strongly Disagree, 2-Disagree, 3-No real opinion, 4-Agree, 5-Strongly Agree)

I would give myself a 4. The hands on approach really helped me understand it all.

4.       What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better? 

More in the pre-planning phases.

Assignment 5

1.       Prior to this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic. I would give myself a 3 for this assignment. I have made maps before but there were some aspects that I did not know until I finished this assignment.

2.       Following this activity, how would you rate the amount of knowledge you have on the topic. 4, I know now more aspects of map-making because of this assignment. 

3.       Did the hands-on approach to this activity add to how much you were able to learn. 3, no opinion

4.       What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better? I would recommend a better explanation of what needs to be done for the blog post. These instructions were very unclear and I did not fully understand what content was needed. 



Assignment 6

1. Prior to this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic. 4 - I have been introduced to geodatabases and domains before and have worked with them.

2. Following this activity, how would you rate the amount of knowledge you have on the topic 4 - I know enough to go through this process and potentially help an individual in need.

3. Did the hands-on approach to this activity add to how much you were able to learn 5 - Strongly Agree. It was the best way to do this exercise

4. What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better? I think this is a good activity the way it is. Maybe some pushing in the right direction.

Total Station Survey

1. I had no knowledge whatsoever on this subject. Ranking: 1
2. I would have to say that using this Total Station taught me a lot and I retained a lot of the information. Ranking: 4
3. The hands on approach of this exercise to me seems to be the only way to do this. Ranking: 5
